Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, chronic respiratory illnesses, and cancers, account for over 70% of global deaths — with urban populations being disproportionately affected due to sedentary lifestyles, poor air quality, limited access to healthy foods, and increasing mental health challenges. As cities rapidly grow, so does the urgency to implement sustainable and inclusive public health strategies. This agenda urges the World Health Organization to coordinate global efforts in addressing urban risk factors, promoting preventive care, and supporting member states in creating healthier urban environments through policy reform, community-based interventions, and equitable healthcare infrastructure.
